lyrical comp team

All of you did an awesome job. Thanks for working so hard. all of those who weren't with us on thursday, tried out over video and jen and I looked over them.
As all of you have heard me say, you are all in this team because you are talented. Each one of you brings a special talent to our team. You are all stronger at somethings and weaker at some things. Dont ever take not making a comp team hard, as if you weren't good enough, because you are. We were looking for dancers who flowed with the music. Who felt it, and had great control and technique and strength. This year, the way we are doing the comp teams, if you don't make the team you are an automatic alternate just for that dance. We will tryout for each comp piece, but camp dances all of you will be in them. If you are an alternate,  we are still going to be watching you. If at any time you are showing better skills and passion than the comp team dancers, we may pull you in a replace you with someone on the comp team. This means you need to keep trying as hard as you can. Comp team, if you lack performance or can't quite perform the way we need you to, you will be replaced by an alternate. I'm taking the strongest performers for each dance, and we will have a very strong cheering section from our team, so when we win, all of you will be apart of it,and That's why there are so many alternates. Each one of yoy are capable of making a comp team, but what you put into it, is what youll get out of it. I created workouts to help with our weaknesses, you should be stretching, and you all made your own goals that you should be working on. We all need to play as a team, so trust me and all of you try as hard as you can. If you are an alternate, try and find someone with similar technique as you or someone you'd like to dance like, and memorize their parts. If I pull you in at any time, you need to know what is going on. Everyone needs to go over counts and movements by yourself, so yoy are ready when we do this at practice.

Coaches Goals for this week.

Goals from the coaches this week- 
Passe, sharp clean strong movements (arms, legs, feet body, head), core control. Be aware of what your body is doing. Stay on count and don't anticipate the next movement. Have fun, show me what you've got.


Also, all I'm asking for is 5 min of cardio. Try to really get your heart rate up and stay up, like you're dancing. This will help with competition. if you would like to challenge yourself, do one of your strength training exercise FULL OUT and still do your cardio for the day.

Camp info

Hello everyone-
                  Camp info.
                          We are meeting on Monday, June 10th, at the North end of the High School parking lot by the big gym, and we are leaving at 1030 am SHARP. We will be assigning riders with Drivers. You are REQUIRED to ride home with them. If your mom or dad comes down, and would like to take you home, I will need a written letter from them letting us know they will drive you home. You can only go home with a parent or your ride you rode down with. Don't ask otherwise.
                          Make sure you have everything on your packing list from BDT and Maddie. Double check your bag and make sure it is all there. Today you should have received..
2 jazz pants
1 grey tank with horseshoe
1 grey tank with teal stripe
1 black reversible tank with blue stripes
1 black embroidered halter (new members)
1 teal tank( new members)
1 sports bra
1 unitard
Black rolling bag (new members)
Hip hop Shoes ( which can only be worn if we say so. DO NOT WEAR OUTSIDE OF PRACTICE)
black dance shoes (Take care of these. If they get damaged you have to buy new ones for comp)
warm up pants with last name
You will be getting before camp- white jersey (probably on Monday)
You might not get jackets and your black tee shirts. We'll see.
Make sure your shoes fit and you have everything you are supposed to have.
                       Maddie will have a packing list and what to wear for each day, description of sister gifts, how we are wearing our hair everyday, ect tomorrow night (Friday).
                       I am missing BDT medical release forms from the following. I need these Monday morning MANDATORY.  Kylie, Cassidi (insurance info), Maddie, Mitzy, Shelby, Aly, Megan, Shanna, and Kendra. These forms are on the blog under this post. Print and fill it out. They will not let you participate without it.
                      We will be staying at the Fairfield Inn Marriot. Parents are not allowed to come to this Hotel and visit. Please allow them to get to bond with their team. We have had this in the past, and I want to make sure you are all aware.
                     Parent Drivers- you are staying at the crystal inn. I only have 3 of you in that room.
                     The only time the parents can come and see.- ( I highlighted cause I know you want to know)
                         Opening night their are teams that can bring a routine to camp. We did not do this, but if you wanted to see, you are welcome. Its at 7:30 Tuesday night in the gymnasium. Again, please let your daughters be with their team. Another time is Thursday night, they will be  doing an end of year showcase. this is when they will show off their routines they have learned. It starts at 5:45 and will last 60-90- min. Yes this is late. We will be leaving directly after that. Drivers you will need to pick us up at Dixie High. I will let you know more info on that when I find out.We WILL be getting home late and dropped off at Stansbury High School. We will not take girls home, so make sure you have them get a ride home or find someone to come get them.
                       Money- Please send your daughter with $8 for gas and money for Lunch and dinner on Monday or bring a lunch from home, and Breakfast Tuesday morning, and Dinner Thursday night.( I don't know if this meal is provided). Have them bring one good snack, like a box of crackers or granola bars or healthy cookies or something that will sustain the girls throughout the day. We will be putting this in a big bag and I will divide it up equally in a little bag with each girls name on it. This way you get a variety without the cost. They are allowed to bring more for themselves if they want. BDT  will have Camp Clothing for sale prices vary $10-$50. This is optional. They do have a Credit/debit machine there (if you trust your daughters not to spend a lot of money). I would bring money for snacks for the road too.
                     NO ENERGY DRINKS OR SODA FOR THE WHOLE YEAR AND NOT JUST CAMP. Your body needs water. They will have a water bottle, but you can bring your own.
                      Teams coming- Delta, Enterprise, Gunnison, Centennial Nevada, Canyonview, Rockwell, Dixie, Park city, Stansbury, Snow canyon, Piute, Summit Academy, St Joseph Catholic.
                    Girls- Get ready to work hard, be tired, be inspired, and learn a whole lot. You will be working out for one hour every morning and then off to classes. You will only have three meals and no snacks, thats why we are doing snacks. If you get discourage, turn that thought around and try harder and make it a goal. You can accomplish anything. Please try not to argue and have negative thought. Try and turn it around when that happens. This is your other family now. You are all sisters, and sometimes sisters don;t get along, but you can't split your family up because of it. Workout a situation you and the other can agree on, and find that love, and respect for the other. You are all amazing and I am so impressed by all of you. Know that the classes I put you in, I felt that's where I thought you would thrive in and if it feels easy or hard, come let me know. I would like you to try and really listen and learn from your teachers and peers. Look around at all the dancers and see if you can take inspiration from someone, including your own team. Feel their energy and and pull from that. I would like to make a motto for our team for this year. Maddie and I were discussing it, and feel that its great for everything we do, including workouts, dancing, tryouts, goals, getting along, ect. Its- " Do You Believe You can Do It". If you don;t believe you will never accomplish, So always believe in yourself and NEVER put yourself down. I'm thrilled to be your coach and I'm thrilled to see what all of you can accomplish this Year. Stallionettes Rock. Love you all.


PS. DO YOUR FUNDRAISERS. THEY MATTER A LOT. IF YOU DON"Y PARTICIPATE. YOU WILL NOT BE IN COMP DANCES WE PAY FOR FROM THE FUNDRAISERS, WHICH IS ALL OF THEM. I WANT ALL OF YOU TO HAVE A CHANCE, SO PLEASE PARTICIPATE. THESE ARE DUE THE WEEK AFTER CAMP, SO GET TO IT. I ALSO HAVE MORE WORKOUT TICKETS. TELL ALL THE PEOPLE ON JUNE 22, IF THEY HAVE WEIGHTS, THEY NEED TO BRING 3-5 LBS WITH THEM.

         Here is the medical release form for camp, just in case you lost it. I need this and your permission travel slip, along with the forms you and your parents will sign tomorrow.  Please print this out, cause i wont have extras tomorrow night.
       Here is also the picture order form if you would like to buy a team picture from camp. FYI, Your sweaty and tired most of the time in these, but they are kind of fun to have. I need those monday morning if not earlier.
       Also, I will be meeting with backstage to get your camp/practice gear on Thursday. You can come get it from me then or I will give it to one of the officers for your party to give to you, or you can come get it Sunday from me. Thanks for your patience. Your hip hop shoes will be here this week too.

Camp Forms Due

Insurance Form

I need all of these forms along with your camp fee receipt Monday morning before camp.
Maddie will have a camp checklist before this time, so keep checking the blog.

I hope all of you are working out, because workouts at camp are hard and all of the other teams have started practicing along with stretching and technique. So keep investing in yourself and dont be lazy.

I can't wait to start this amazing team. When we get started, we are going to be serious but fun. Be ready to work and accomplish all of your goals. We will be having serious practices starting with camp until comp is over. SO EXCITED!!!!!
